Plaza de la Independencia, also known as 'Plaza de los Leones' is one of several beautiful colonial-era spaces in the elegant city of Granada. The obelisk in the centre of the plaza, just north of Parque Central, commemorates the 1821 struggle for independence. The landmark Catedral de Granada can be seen in the background of the sketch.
