Vintage White Rabbit Age of Wisdom Quote Watch
This fun watch for habitual latecomers and fans of the 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll features the famous illustration of the white rabbit looking at the watch from his waistcoat pocket. 'Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!' he cries. The rabbit is late for his shift as herald at the court of the Queen of Hearts. I've teamed the original black and white drawing by John Tenniel with a pithy quote on wisdom and age by American Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, 'Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.' The watch would be the perfect gift for an 18th or 21st birthday, from a father to son or mother to daughter, or anyone older and wiser to someone younger - and who happens to be a fan of Alice in Wonderland, of course! I've added a dash of colour to the original Tenniel illustration.
