Two-hemisphere world map by Dutch cartographer Frederik de Wit. Published in 1660, in Amsterdam, Holland. Includes additional circular maps of the poles and depictions of a heliocentric and a geocentric model of the Universe. There are star charts of the Northern and the Southern hemispheres, with their respective constellations. The eastern part of Australia, the Western part of North America and Antarctica are not mapped. The pictorial decorations represent the four elements of the world - air, fire, earth, and water.
