Title:御茶の水(ocha no mizu / おちゃのみず /Ochanomizu)from the Selection of Scenic Views of Japan. Ochanomizu is the name of the area around Surugadai, Kanda, Tokyo. In the foreground is the Kanda River. It is now home to a student district, religious institutions, a prominent hospital, musical instrument stores, sporting goods stores, and a used bookstore district. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
