Title : 木場の雪 (Kiba no yuki / きば の ゆき / Snow at Kiba) Kiba is a place name in the southern part of Koto-ku, Tokyo. Or Kiba is a place where lumber is stored. It is also a place where many lumber merchants gather and live. Fukagawa in Yedo and Itachibori in Osaka are especially famous. Author :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) 川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957)) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
