series of 8 collectable suffrage button Affiliate icon

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment with this commemorative button based on an iconic pin from the American suffrage movement. There are 8 historic pins in this series. Each one has slightly different fonts and color schemes because the suffrage movement began as many grass root groups working together until it became a national organization and adopted the gold, white, and lavender banner of Alice Paul's faction as the official Suffrage Flag. They have been slightly revamped using the same color palette so that they all work together as a set. Each star on these pins represent a state where women could vote. States could pass laws to allow women in their state to vote even if it wasn't federal law. The 19th Amendment made it legal in all states for women to vote whether they passed state laws or not. Mississippi finally ratified the 19th Amendment in 1984! This 6 star pin represents the number of states in which women had full suffrage at the time it was made: Wyoming (1869), Colorado (1893), Utah (1896), Idaho (1896) Washington (1910) and California (1911)
