Print Based on Original Foggy Meadow Oil Painting
This print is based on an original studio 8"x10" oil landscape painting by vermont fine artist Matthew Gauvin painted from his "Edge of Nature Studio". "Beyond the Foggy Veil" is the first painting Gauvin created during his transition from childrens book illustration into landscape painting. He struggled over a year sketching and doing small paint sketches trying to capture a particular mood and atmosphere only to eventually stab his pallet knife through the canvas in frustration. Every morning on his drive to work he was taunted by this scene until he was finally able to paint the version you see here. Since this small study was finished he learned even more about the scene which he will incorporate into the larger version.
