This is a real sign from the turn of the last century from the days when men chewed tobacco and spit in spittoons. This sign urges gentlemen to aim for the spittoon, not the floor. An interesting story about this sign is that my mother's father "reappropriated" this actual sign when he was a boy from the old city hall in Marine City, Michigan.
