This mid 20th century US Presidential History artwork titled ‘Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States’ by Howard Chandler Christy features George Washington presiding over the Philadelphia Convention, with Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin being present among others. The artwork depicts the signing of the US Constitution at the Independence Hall in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787, wherein it is one of the most famous depictions of the early days of the US and is currently displayed alongside the east stairway in the House of Representatives wing of the Capitol building.
