This early 20th century US Suffrage History photo features a suffragette holding a sign that reads “We demand that the American Government give Alice Paul, a political offender, the privileges Russia gave Miyukoff”. The objective of picketing for suffrage was an effort to pressure President Woodrow Wilson to support the proposed “Anthony amendment” to the US Constitution that would guarantee women the right to vote.
