This early 20th century US Social History photo features one of the several Woman Suffrage Pickets positioned around the White House reading “To ask freedom for women is not a crime - Suffrage prisoners should not be treated as criminalsâ€. The protests were set up in an effort to pressure President Woodrow Wilson into supporting the proposed “Anthony amendment†to the US Constitution that would guarantee women the right to vote.
