The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem Postcard

This old photo was taken in 1857 by James Robertson : A British photographer, who was one of the first "pioneers" to photo the holy land. As you can see, in those days, the impressive walls of the church could be seen from far, cause there where hardly any houses around it. It is a lovely postcard, that shows how Bethlehem looked like in biblical times, before modernization and development came to the holy land.
