Alice M McPherrin by Russell L Swigert 1917 art Postcard Affiliate icon

Art Nouveau Lady 1917 art ... drawn by my mom's dad of my mom's mom in 1917 the year they married. My grandpa Russell L Swigert's ink drawing of my grandma Alice McPherrin signed and dated April 1, 1917. They married later in 1917. Their farm was at the intersection of four Knox County townships: Galesburg, Cedar, Orange, Knox (counter clockwise on the map). The farm itself was in Cedar Township. They had field corn, hogs, chickens all which I remember. I do not remember when they had cows, but mom does. I do not remember when they had horses and neither does mom, but, they dated in a horse and buggy era. I remember the large white farmhouse my grandpa's father had built. I have a picture of the previous 'homestead' house from the 1800s. I remember grandma holding me on her lap as she was listening to her neighbors gossiping on the party line. My grandparents met at the Knox County Fair where my grandpa began flirting with grandma as she was riding the merry-go-round. They were born in 1895 and 1896. Computer colorized 2024 by Mark Edward Westerfield. I went took classes to learn fine art and computer art in 2004 and 2005 and began my online Zazzle store in 2016, which now is 8 years ago. Our family was always fascinated by my grandpa's 1917 ink drawing and we were told grandma used to have beautiful red hair so I wanted to see how this would look so I colorized grandpa's 1917 drawing and mom liked the result. Mom was not born until 1932 when her parents were about ages about 36 - 37 but her only older sibling died at his age 16 so mom is their oldest surviving child ... mom is age 91 now. My grandparents were born in 1895 - 1896 and married in 1917 same year grandpa drew this.
