Founded in 1921 as 'Sportvereinigung Hindenburg Allenstein' and aptly named after German Field Marshal and Reichs President Paul von Hindenburg. During 1935 it became a military side and then played as 'Standort-Sportvereinigung Hindenburg Allenstein'. In 1932 the club won the Baltenverband title and advanced to the national playoffs round where they were beaten in a quarter final match by Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0. The following season they were again division champions and then beat Hertha Berlin 4-1 on their way to a re-match with Eintracht in the quarterfinals. A stronger Frankfurt again became victorious this time outclassing Allenstein by a 12-2 scoreline. At the end of WW2 in 1945 the club was disbanded when the town of Allenstein and all parts of East Prussia became annexed by the USSR. In 1948 Allenstein was fully annexed by Poland (although in this particular town not all Germans were forced to leave as elsewhere across East Prussia).
