The Marriage of the Lamb Postcard
Inspired by God and Sacred Scripture; especially the description of Heavenly Jerusalem as featured in the book of Revelation. I was also inspired by the Gospels, especially the passages where Jesus talks about guests being invited to a wedding. The bride is Heavenly Jerusalem, the Lamb is also Jesus... my painting is about the unity between God and his people at the end of time. The piece was very tricky to paint, as my paintings often are, it took a long time to get the colors right. I'm happy with the way it has turned out. One of the final areas to paint were the rays of light coming from Jesus - one wrong move and I could have messed up hours and hours of layers of paint below the rays, but thankfully it went OK!
