This original watercolor painting shows the garden behind Jane Austen's cottage in Chawton (now Jane Austen's House Museum), where she lived with her mother and sister, and from which all her books were published. The painting was done by my dear friend Carolyn Marshall Wright, based on a photo I took during a trip in 2005, where I followed Austen's life through England.
