Built at the Castle Bromwich factory in 1943 and was assigned to varios RAF Squadrons until 1956 when it was transferred to Italian AF.It went into civilian ownership in the late 1970's and had a rebuild in the early 1980's. It's now with the "Fighter factory" in Virginia, USA.Early in its life the aircraft was used by Squadron Leader George Silvester as his personal plane, he commented that as he belonged to neither "A" or "B" flight there was a question mark over which identity letter to paint on the frame, hence the GZ? marking. The aircraft became known as "The CO's Query"
