Gift your friend this jacket with this vintage USAAF insignia. Before the official formation of the United States Air Force in 1947 there was the United States Army Air Forces, created in 1941. The service had a series of insignia, this is their latest. Nine months before the creation of the USAF, which retained the design. A white five pointed star on a blue roundel. Added on both sides a lengthwise bar is red, white and blue. The colors are the official Army-Navy Air Craft Color Standards.
