Before the official formation of the United States Air Force in 1947 there was the United States Army Air Forces, created in 1941. The service had a series of insignia, this is their latest. A white five pointed star on a blue roundel. Added on both sides a lengthwise bar is red, white and blue. The colors are the official Army-Navy Air Craft Color Standards.
