30”x 20” jigsaw puzzle with an image of an 1866 painting by artist Albert Bierstadt of the Merced River in a glacial valley of Yosemite National Park in the western Sierra Nevada mountains of Central California, United States. The valley is about 7.5 mi long and 3,000–3,500 ft deep, surrounded by high granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan, and densely forested with pines. Within the boundaries of Yosemite flow the headwaters and significant stream reaches of the Tuolumne and Merced Rivers, both of which are tributaries of the San Joaquin River basin and are designated as Wild and Scenic Rivers.
