This poster, “Starlight Savon”, was part of the “Maîtres de l'Affiche” which refers to 256 color lithographic plates used to create a very significant art publication during the Belle Époque in Paris, France. Henri Meunier, 1873-1922, was a Belgian Art Nouveau lithographer, etcher, illustrator, bookbinder and poster designer of the Belle Époque. Meunier used flat colors and thick outlines, borrowed from Japanese prints, to achieve powerful images. Enormously successful, today the Maîtres de l'Affiche works are as rare as the original large format images and much in demand by collectors from around the world.
