This image “Cycles-Tnomed†is a vintage French bicycle advertisement for ‘The Cowboy' bicycles. It is a fun old poster featuring a man dressed as an American cowboy riding a bike. He is wearing chaps and has a pistol strapped around his waist. He is riding with one hand because he is holding a rifle in his other hand. J. Demont wants you to come to his place to shop because they have ‘everything for the cycle'. Paper labels have been used since the early 1880s. They were introduced to America by European artists, and this printing process became known as lithography. This was one of the first forms of commercial art.
