"Old Harrison County Courthouse, Marshall, Texas" by Catherine Sherman. The Old Harrison County Courthouse stands in the center of Whetstone Square in Marshall, Texas. The Old Courthouse, built in 1900 and designed in a Beaux-Arts Renaissance Revival architectural style, is one of the most famous and admired buildings in Texas and is the most notable landmark of Marshall. The yellow brick building’s distinctive dome stands above a four-level rotunda. The Old Courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
