The Scott County, Kansas, Courthouse is in Scott City, the only city in the county. The original courthouse was built in 1888. In 1924, the current court house was voted on and the cornerstone was laid on November 11, 1924. Scott City was founded in 1885. Like Scott County, the city is named for General Winfield Scott.
