Wellington, New Zealand. Wellington is the capital city and third most populous urban area of New Zealand. It is at the southwestern tip of the North Island, between Cook Strait and the Rimutaka Range. The Parliamentary Library, completed in 1899, is the oldest of the NZ parliament buildings, standing to the north of Parliament House. The library was designed in Gothic revival style and is constructed of masonry.
