These paintings have been created in soft pastel and water-colour medium and they're worked in a realist style. I like to capture the unique character of each akita that I paint, hopefully the unique personalities of the akita's in this calendar shine out. The name of each dog is printed below the picture. I paint from digital photos to create these akita portraits, I like to work from digital photos because I can use lots of different images of a much loved pet and create an original one off portrait and I can zoom right into the photo of the dog to enable me to get the tiniest of details. In this calendar you'll see portraits of a black akita, white akita and a white long coat, there's a black brindle akita, pinto akita, black and a white akita along other amazing akita's.
