■ Dutch painter representing the Vincent van Gogh Post impressionist. He expresses his feelings frankly and is known for his bold and unique use of colors. ■ "The Branches of the Blooming Almond Tree" This work was painted to celebrate the birth of a child to his younger brother, Theo, while Van Gogh was recuperating at a mental hospital. The branches of almond trees were drawn as a symbol of new life. The composition of the branch shows the influence of Japanese ukiyo-e. ■Data: Vincent van Gogh "Almond Blossom" (1890) The Van Gogh Museum of Art (Amsterdam) Collection
