Paris had lots of circus events in the Victorian days. This wonderful poster is from a vintage circus from the late 1800s, showing a woman holding the American flag, catching a cannon ball. Pure art nouveau, this wonderful circus poster is a classic for anyone who loves circus sideshows. This circus poster shows two men standing in back of a big black cannon, and the cannon ball coming out toward the woman in the front. The damsel is wearing all read, from neck to feet (with a bit of gold fringe here and there) and her hand is outstretched to catch the dangerous cannonball. She's holding a big American Flag in her other hand.
