Art Nouveau Theophile Steinlen Rooster - Cocorico cover 1899 - This wonderful art nouveau French Rooster poster is titled, Cocorico, or Cockerel Rooster. This beautiful black rooster has a bright red comb on top of its head and red wattles under its chin. The Cockerel Rooster is crowing loudly and happily. Around the edges is the Art Nouveau lettering for this French poster, a large Cocorico is drawn, underneath of which include several names and "Paris." About Theophile Steinlen - Theophile Steinlen is a famous artist from Paris, France (1859 – 1923). Steinlen was one of the defining illustrators in Montmartre, Paris where he created posters of cabarets and music hall performers. Steinlen created hundreds of art nouveau illustrations for French magazines.
