Black and White Tree - This art nouveau tree is a vintage tree pattern drawn by Art Nouveau illustrator Aubrey Beardsley (1872-1898). The image of the tree is in black and white, initially used as a book illustration. Trees were a recurring theme in the art nouveau era, from 1890 to 1910, when there was a return to nature, strong graphic line, and images that reminded the art nouveau artists of medieval etchings.
