Published 1910 The inscription that goes with the vintage illustration is "How the King found the girl playing ball in the orchard" The painting shows a woman dressed in Renaissance or Medieval clothing tossing a red ball into the air while her dog watches. In the distance the King looks on. He wears armor. In the background is a castle. The orchard is full of flowers, daffodils and narcissis. The colors are rich Pre-Raphaelite hues.
