Three different vintage illustration black and white Victorian Era fairy tales images by Sir John Tenniel in Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, 1865. Sheet #1: Alice becomes a guest at a "mad" tea party along with the March Hare, the Hatter, and a sleeping Dormouse. The other characters give Alice many riddles and stories, including the famous 'Why is a raven like a writing desk?'. The Hatter reveals that they have tea all day because time has punished him by eternally standing still at 6 pm (tea time). Alice becomes insulted and tired of being bombarded with riddles and she leaves claiming that it was the stupidest tea party that she had ever been to. Sheet #2: Alice meets the Cheshire Cat who is up in a tree in the forest. Alice is portrayed as a quaintly logical girl, sometimes even pedantic. She is seven years old but acts much older. The Cheshire Cat is a striped Tabby known for his distinctive mischievous grin and is a mischief maker. Sheet #3:The White Rabbit is dressed as a herald in a cloak with hearts, holding a scroll and blowing a trumpet. He is a herald-like servant of the King and Queen of Hearts about to give a proclamation.
