Vintage illustration astronomy and celestial star chart featuring the constellations of both the northern and southern hemispheres on a single Mercator projection by Remmet Teunisse Backer and Johannes de Broen, 1709. The constellations are shown as though they are looking down on the earth from beyond the stars, many of the figures are drawn with their backs turned. Angels are holding a decorative cartouche and a chart of measurements organized by the signs of the zodiac is on the bottom.
