Waiters serve steel workers lunch dangling high above the under-construction Waldorf-Astoria in 1930. This legend of a hotel was the first to have electricity on every floor, the first to have baths in their rooms and the first to offer 24 hour room service. The original hotel was built in two stages, as the Waldorf Hotel and the Astoria Hotel, which accounts for its dual name.
