Rosa Gallica is an heirloom rose variety that has been around for century's and was not only highly fragrant but was often used for medicinal purposes as far back as Roman and Medieval times. This vintage style apothecary design includes a drawing of the favored rose species by the famous French botanist and floral illustrator Joseph Redoute from the early 1800s. Accompanying design elements and Latin typography are dated even earlier from as far back as the 1500s.
