A popular Victorian floral pattern from the famous arts and crafts designer William Morris and his talented apprentice John Henry Dearle in 1896. John Dearle, who managed Morris and Company's block printing operations at Merton Abbey was the person who succeeded Morris as director of the company. Compton was actually created for the house of a client named Laurence Hodson, near Wolverhampton. Tulips and poppies are woven into a rich, flowing pattern and is offered here in a trio of colorful color ways.
