PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN IN A BLACK HAT TISSUE PAPER Affiliate icon

Considered one of the finest impressionist portraits ever among the French schools done by Edouard Manet. Ms. Bertie Morisot was his model and a good friend. Manet would paint her 4 times in his career and she became his sister-in-law soon after this work was done. Here she is in black mourning clothing holding a barely visible boquet of violets. Morisot herself was a talented artist and the grand-niece of the famous 18th century Jean-Honore Fragonard. This portrait is considered by many to be Manets finest work.
