FINE ART LANDSCAPE OF SALISBURY CATHEDRAL TISSUE PAPER Affiliate icon

The most popular British landscape artist of all time and its easy to see why. Painted by John Constable in 1831, a master at his art, but he was first shunned by his colleuges in his own country due to his determination to be realist, finding beauty in nature as it is painting what he sees, rather than trying to improve on it by covering all the "flaws". Unlike his previous take on the catherdral: The Salisbury Cathedral from the Bishop's Grounds, this painting is called The Salisbury Cathedral from the Meadows and is a bit darker and more turbulent than some of his previous work. It was painted after the death of his wife Maria and is said to reflect his own roller coaster of emotions as he mourn and moves on from the love of his life - but not without hope as thought to be represented in the break in the clouds and the forming rainbow.
