THAYER'S CHILDREN ANTIQUE PORTRAIT PAINTING TISSUE PAPER
A beautiful and unique fine art tissue paper featuring one of Abbott Thayers more haunting portrait paintings. Famous for his ehtereal angels and camouflage blending style, this masterpiece was done of Thayer's children and painted shortly after his wife's death in 1891. His daughter Mary was chosen as the central figure and, although no wings were painted on her in this version, he modeled her after the famous winged Victory statue at the Louvre - a close comparison is not needed to show how he achieved a similar look with the draping of her attire - but ended up calling the painting A Virgin instead of using Victory in the title.
