An antique book plate lithographic print done by the famous fairy tale artist Warwick Goble. Part of a collection of illustrations from an Indian fairy tale book called Folk-Tales of Bengal collected and recored by Lal Behari Day. This image was from The Story of Prince Sobur and shows where a merchants yound daughter is hiding from beasts of the forests with an old woman inside the protect of the tree. The tree tells them to scatter food to bring hundreds of peacocks so that they can collect their fallen feathers of gorgeous plume to sell for money.
