Picacho Peak Arizona Southwest Desert Mountain Tapestry
This tapestry wall hanging features an original photo by Karen Coffelt of iconic Picacho Peak, which is located in Picacho Peak State Park in Picacho, Arizona. This park is just off the I-10 freeway, in between the cities of Casa Grande and Tucson. The Battle of Picacho Pass, which was one of several American Civil War era engagements in Arizona Territory, was fought near here. It was the second westernmost battles of that war. Every year during early March there are reenactments of the battle, as well as other demonstrations of Civil War military history.
