Cactus Flower Yellow And Pink Cracked Tan Texture Throw Pillow
Featured on this square throw pillow is an original photo by Karen Coffelt of a lovely pastel yellow teddy bear cholla cactus flower blossom with pink accents on a background frame of cracked tan texture. The cholla cactus is one of the most prickly in the cactus world having barbed spines that are painful to pull out and will make a person bleed. This particular variety features segments that detach from the plant quite readily and seem to "jump" off when you brush up against it, which gives them one of their common names of Jumping Cholla. Other species of cholla in the Sonoran Desert include staghorn and buckhorn cholla as well as chainfruit cholla, where the fruit hangs down in long chains and remain on the plant for long periods of time. Spring in the Sonoran Desert is my favorite time of year when many different cactus species are in bloom. It's all quite magical!
