This jigsaw puzzle features an original photo by karen coffelt of a teddy bear cholla cactus in the Lost Dutchman State Park and a view of Apache Junction, Arizona. The text reads, "Arizona Awesomeness!". You may change the text to whatever you want or remove it if you prefer. Lost Dutchman State Park, located in Apache Junction, the gateway to the Superstition Mountains, is named for the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine, a legendary rich gold mine named after the German prospector Jacob Waltz, who purportedly discovered it in the late 19th century and kept its location secret. It's one of the most famous lost mines in American history, and people have been searching for it since 1892. The park encompasses 320 acres of wild Sonoran Desert scenery of the base of the Superstition Mountains, called "The Supes" by the locals. The park was almost closed in 2010, but a man from Katy, Texas donated $8,000 so that it could stay open. Some Apaches believe that the hole that leads to the lower world is located in the Superstition Mountains and that the winds blowing from the hole are the cause of the severe dust storms in that area.
