It's a pet peeve . . . blue must be the most misrepresented color ever. There are no blue land mammals that I'm aware of . . . yet there are cats and dogs (large and small) referred to as "blues". This beautiful "not blue" flower looks more the color of lilac, but it is truly the beautiful "blue" phlox. Phlox has been given it's own category because there are so many kinds: creeping, wild, tall . . . and it comes in a variety of colors as well.
