In the "Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous," Step 1 states: “We admitted we were powerless over alcohol – that our lives had become unmanageable.” For any of us who have experienced a bad hair day (and who hasn’t – unless you’re bald and every day is a no-hair day) we can relate to how powerless that can make you feel.
