Coast Guard Station San Juan is located just outside the walls of the old city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Part of Coast Guard District Seven. Station San Juan was established in 1993 and is currently the only Coast Guard Search and Rescue station in the Caribbean. Station personnel monitor the area of responsibility with six search and rescue platforms which include a 45ft Response Boat Medium (RBM), three 33ft Special Purpose Craft–Law Enforcement (SPC-LE), and two 25ft Homeland Security Boats.
