Vincent van Gogh (Dutch, 1853 - 1890) Almond Blossom, 1890, Oil on canvas Unframed: 73.3 cm x 92.4 cm Vincent van Gogh painted this still life of almond blossoms against a blue sky for his newborn nephew who was named after him. The almond tree is a symbol of this new life. It is a tree that blossoms as early as February in the south of France, where it announces the coming spring.
