Often referred to as the "Fairytale Castle," this famous palace was commissioned by King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the 19th century, but he died before he could enjoy it. The iconic princess Cinderella may have gotten to live in a very similar design though! The beautiful spires and towers were meant to serve as a private retreat and remind the nostalgic king of the romantic ideals of knights and chivalry.
