1880s Repro Providential Woman's Portrait Ceramic Tile
- from our Affiliates
Isaac Broom was one of the first major tile producers in the United States. Broome formed the Providential Tile Works after he left his position as chief designer for the Trent Tile Company in Newark, New Jersey, in 1885. This tile has a flowers in the background of a portrait of a young woman with curls cascading from her cap and framing her face. The attention to detail in this one is amazing. She even wears a necklace and earrings.
