Reproduced from a circa 1880 series of 12 Medieval Minstrel tiles by Copeland & Sons. Each tile features a different musician playing a period instrument in a natural setting. Some of the instruments represented include violin/viola, cello or base, lute, mandolin, drum, pan pipes, recorder, a large zither type of string instrument, and more. Copeland produced several versions of this series including some in one color. Our set is in soft jewel tones on buff and gold. Highly collectible.
